The Tuono 457 is based on the RS 457 and shares most of its components with the latter. Now, the Tuono gets a polarising front end with its full-LED headlamp. While the tank is the same as the RS, the muscular radiator shrouds and exposed frame add character to the motorcycle. That said, the rear section is the same as the faired version- sharp and angular.

Underneath, the Aprilia Tuono 457 uses the same 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor that churns out 46.9bhp at 9400rpm and 43.5Nm at 6700rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox with an optional quick shifter. As for features, the Tuono gets full-LED lighting, a colour TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity and a safety suite that includes three ride modes, traction control and switchable dual-channel ABS.

The Tuono rides on 17-inch wheels with Eurogrip Protorq Extreme rubber. Suspension duties are taken care of by preload-adjustable USD forks and monoshock. Meanwhile, braking is done by a 320mm disc at the front and a 220mm rear disc held on by ByBre calipers at both ends.

Aprilia is likely to announce the launch date of the Tuono 457 in New Zealand sometime next year since the RS 457 only arrived here a few weeks ago.
