SS300 Shine On The Club Circuit
Some of the Intermediate classes crashed the party, but it was the Junior categories, and notably SS300, that shone on the Hampton Downs Club Circuit on 3rd November for the third Round of the Suzuki – Auckland Motorcycle Club Series. Lots of laps, low cost, and a chance to run an alternate circuit configuration were the order of the day for the small circuit.
ProTwins turned out just for a skid – while the SuperLite and Post Classic classes decided to go for points on the short 1.1km configuration. And in SuperLite, Tyler King now has an enormous point lead – being 11 from 11 for the season to date. He makes a potent combination with the well-sorted and prepared GVR645.
The Carl Cox Motorsport Cup ran as they always do with AMCC, and Tyler King enhanced his CV here also – now 9 from 11 in the Ninja Cup, and with a points lead, knocking on just under 200. The battle for second is where all the action is – Oliver Pykett, Michael Robinson, and Billee Fuller trading blows.
Scott Findlay has grabbed the lead of the Hyosung Cup, after Elijah Daiken suffered a fall in the final Cup Race of the day. The master and the apprentice have jumped out to a ‘comfortable’ point lead over the rest of the field – but the Cup Series is only at the halfway point, with three rounds still to come for both the Hyosungs and the Ninjas.
Elijah Daiken does, however, hold a very comfortable point lead in ProLite 250. Four more wins on the Club circuit takes his season tally to 9 from 11. Jacob Rutherford and Esmond Williams are both riding well, with Rutherford having taken a couple of wins off Daiken at Round Two. Still, their run was interrupted by Scott Findlay, who made his first appearance in ProLite for the season and bagged four second-placings.
SS300 continue to shine this season, with Haydn Fordyce on the Yamaha R3 up against a trio of Double-6 Motorsport KTM 390s – in the form of Cameron Leslie, Hamish Simpson, and Logan Rowell. And Tyler King is an occasional interloper on his Ninja 400.
Fordyce holds the upper hand – being 8 from 11 for the season – and he took three wins on the Club circuit, only bested once by Hamish Simpson, who got the jump through traffic in Race Two.
The Bucket class rounded out the programme with a modest field surrendering to the pace of Nathanael Diprose on his RS80-powered machine, who took all four victories whilst lapping consistently in the 42s – a time equivalent to the quicker ProLIte 250s.
Round Four, the final Round of the Suzuki – Auckland Motorcycle Club Series, is coming up on Sunday, 17th November, and will be back on the National Circuit for all Club Series classes.
WINNER WILL BE DRAWN!
And in conjunction with Suzuki NZ, AMCC will be giving away a brand-new Suzuki GSX250 to one lucky eligible competitor to take home.
