  • Classic 650 based on Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650
  • Retro design, 648cc parallel-twin engine
  • Pricing to be announced next week

Royal Enfield has announced that the new Classic 650 will be launched in Australia and New Zealand next week with pricing to be announced during the event.

The Classic 650 was introduced globally at the 2024 EICMA in Italy last year. Based on the same platform as the brand’s other 650cc motorcycles like the Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650, the Classic derives the styling from its smaller, 350cc sibling. So it has the retro, bulbous look to it adorned with chrome in most areas of its bodywork. While it is easy to mistake it for the Classic 350, the 650 comes with twin pipes, a bigger fuel tank and wider fenders to set it apart. It is available in four colours- Vallum Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Black Chrome and Teal.

Underneath, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 comes with a 648cc, parallel-twin engine that churns out 46.3bhp and 52.3Nm. Now for numbers, the Classic 650 weighs in at over 215kg, making it one of the heaviest bikes in the brand’s range. It rides on a 19/18-inch spoke wheel combination and gets 43mm Showa telescopic forks upfront and a pair of shocks at the rear.

As for features, there is a semi-digital cluster to make it retro but comes with Tripper navigation as standard. You also get adjustable levers, full-LED lighting and dual-channel ABS as standard equipment. We expect the pricing of the Royal Enfield Classic 650 to be under the Shotgun 650 at $11,990 and the Super Meteor 650 at $12,990 but slightly more than the Interceptor 650 at $11,190. And we would’t have to wait long as the launch is scheduled soon, so stay tuned for all the details of the Classic 650 on the BRM news site.
