Special-edition Yamaha Tenere 700 unveiled; but there’s a catch!

  • Yamaha Tenere 700 Yamalube edition unveiled
  • Can only be won through a contest
  • Will not be available in Australia or New Zealand

The adventure bike segment has been booming for a few years now. And the Yamaha Tenere 700 has become the hero bike when it comes to middleweight ADVs with hardcore off-road ability. Well, Yamaha has unveiled the special Tenere 700 Yamalube Edition…but it isn’t for sale!

Yamaha Tenere 700 Yamalube edition

Yamaha is giving away the special-edition motorcycle as part of a campaign. This promo lasts until April 30 and is exclusive to France only through the brand’s official French website. And the winner of the promo contest will take home the bike. Interestingly, Yamaha hasn’t revealed how many bikes are available yet.

So what makes the Yamalube Edition special? It comes with this exclusive livery with the branding plastered on the fuel tank and side panels. It comes in a black and blue colour scheme with silver highlights. The paint scheme gives off a clean, factory-style Dakar vibe to the already minimal design of the T7. In addition to this, it also gets GYTR serrated pegs and a blacked-out Akrapovic exhaust as standard. Then there is the black engine guards and skid plates for added protection.

Other than this, the Yamaha Tenere 700 Yamalube edition remains the same. The torquey CP2 engine, 21-inch front wheel with long-travel suspension on both ends all are the same as the regular model.

While the Yamalube Editon won’t make it to Australia or New Zealand, it is a reminder of how a cool livery and some aftermarkets bits, can refresh the look of a motorcycle. If it is a factory exclusive, even better!
