Aprilia Shiver 900 resurrected; but there’s a catch

  • Aprilia Shiver 900 is to be sold in China only
  • Gets the same engine with 94bhp
  • No word about its global launch

Aprilia has re-introduced the Shiver 900, five years after it was discontinued from global markets. The new version, however, will only be manufactured and sold in China; as of now, there is no word about its introduction in other markets.

The new Aprilia Shiver 900 hasn’t received any significant updates compared to the last version. However, there are slight revisions in the form of new side panels, an updated LED headlamp, and keyless ignition. Interestingly, Aprilia is offering the motorcycle with the same 900cc engine that puts out 94bhp and 89Nn as before. It also weighs the same as the previous iteration at 219kg.

In China the Aprilia Shiver 900 competes against the CFMoto 800NK that we also tested recently but costs much more and offers less than half the equipment of the latter. So whether or not Aprilia will bring the motorcycle to New Zealand and Australia to compete against other European rivals is yet to be seen.
