- CFMoto 675SR-R unveiled
- Gets a 674cc triple with close to 100bhp
- Global launch to happen by the end of 2024
The CFMoto 675SR-R was first previewed in fully disguised form last year with its engine placed on display at the EICMA. Now, it has been unveiled and is expected to be launched globally at the 2024 EICMA.
While the 675SR-R looks like an even more aggressive version of the already sharp CFMoto 450SR, it does not directly compete against the Honda CBR600RR or the Kawasaki ZX-6R. The latter are much more track-focused and would cost much more than the 675SR-R. However, the new CFMoto sportbike will rival the Triumph Daytona 660, Honda CBR650R and the Suzuki GSX-8R instead.
Now, hiding behind the steel alloy frame is a 674cc, inline-three motor that is good for 94bhp at 10,250rpm. This would enable CFMoto to then tune-down the bike and restrict it to 47bhp making it A2 compliant as well. That said, at 1400mm, the 675SR-R’s wheelbase is shorter than the Daytona 660, GSX-8R as well as the Honda CBR650R. However, the Aprilia RS660 is even more aggressively compact at 1370mm.
Along the same lines as most other Chinese manufacturers CFMoto has equipped the 675SR-R well. It gets fully adjustable KYB forks, J.Juan four-pot radial brakes and electronics like ABS, ride modes and cornering traction control. With an expected launch at the EICMA in Italy, we can expect the motorcycle to make its way to New Zealand and Australia in the first quarter of 2025.
