- CFMoto 800 MT-X breaks cover
- Uses a 799cc, parallel-twin engine
- Could be launched in NZ and Australia soon
CFMoto have taken the wraps off the all-new 800 MT-X. The motorcycle is the Chinese brand’s hardcore adventure-touring offering that competes with the KTM 790 Adventure, Honda Transalp 750, BMW 850 GS and the Yamaha Tenere 700.
The 800 MT-X looks rugged and purposeful with the high-set fender, tall adjustable windscreen and upswept exhaust. It gets sharp lines that hides its bulk well. Underneath, it comes with a 799cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that churns out a healthy 93.9bhp and 86Nm. Speaking of which, the motor is derived from the KTM 790 Adventure itself.
Now, with a ride-by-wire throttle, CFMoto has equipped the 800 MT-X with power modes, cruise control and a quickshifter. The Bosch six-axis IMU allows for lean-sensitive ABS and traction control. You also get fully adjustable suspension fitted to a 21-inch front and an 18-inch wheel at the rear. These spoke wheels are shod with a 90/90 tyre at the front and a 150/70 tyre for the rear.
Braking duties are done by J.Juan brakes and the CFMoto 800 MT-X also gets a 22.5-litre fuel tank, tyre pressure monitors. It weighs in at 220kg and offers a variable seat height of 830/870mm. Now, CFMoto is offering the adventure motorcycle in two colours- Nebula Black and Zephyr Blue.
With international pre-orders commenced, we can expect CFMoto to launch the motorcycle in New Zealand and Australia soon.
