- Harley-Davidson to move production to Thailand
- To include its Revolution Max models
- Said to be a temporary shift from the USA
Harley-Davidson has announced that it will move more production of its motorcycles to Thailand. The American manufacturer says that it is a ‘temporary’ shift to the Asian country for 2025 model year production.
Notably, this isn’t the first instance since Harley already set up a production facility in Thailand back in 2018. It clarified that the bikes built there won’t be shipped to the US for sale. Moreover, Harley is said to transition the production of its Revolution Max powered motorcycles like the Pan-America adventure motorcycle, the Nightster and Sportster S. These motorcycles will be manufactured in the Southeast Asian country for the 2025 model year.
Additionally, reports suggest that Harley-Davidson is looking to optimise its production for its Softail, Trike and Grand American Touring models in the USA. It is also planning to invest around USD 9mn in facilities in its home country.
Whether or not this move will benefit or impact sales for nearby Asian countries as well as New Zealand and Australia is yet to be known. However, to stay tuned with more industry news, follow our Instagram and Facebook so you don’t miss out on anything!
