• Uses components from Svartpilen 801
  • Powered by a 799cc engine
  • Available in Australia and New Zealand from 2025

At first glance, it isn’t easy to distinguish between the two models. However, the new Vitpilen is ever-so-slightly more sporty than its scrambler sibling. The handlebars are lower and the tyres are different too. While the Svartpilen rides on Pirelli MT60 RS rubber, the Vitpilen gets Michelin Road 6 tyres. Then the two colour options- yellow and silver- set it apart further from the dark hues available on the Svartpilen 801.

However, both motorcycles are similar in terms of chassis, engine and electronics suite. So, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 uses a KTM 790 Duke-based 799cc, parallel-twin engine that offers 105bhp and 88Nm. This unit is fitted in a chromium-molybdenum-steel frame. That said, the Vitpilen 801 weighs in at 180kg dry, making it a kilogram lighter than its sibling.

As for braking, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 uses hardware sourced from J.Juan which includes a pair of 300mm discs at the front and a 240mm rotor at the rear. Suspension duties are carried out by a WP Apex setup with five-way compression and rebound adjustability for the front. The rear is rebound and preload adjustable too, but skips out on compression damping.

The bikes comes with cornering-sensitive Bosch ABS and traction control as standard too. But that’s not all, the motorcycle is equipped with riding modes. Three to be exact. There is Rain, Road and Sport with an optional Dynamic Pack that can alter anti-wheelie control, 10-level traction control, cruise control, two-way quickshifter and supermoto ABS.

Husqvarna Motorcycles have announced that the new Vitpilen 801 will be available in Australia and New Zealand from January 2025 across all its dealerships. Although, it will only be offered in limited numbers in the two countries.
