• New Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX unveiled
  • Gets a bigger 1099cc engine with more power
  • Could be launched in NZ and AUS later this year

As its name suggests, the Ninja 1100SX gets a bigger engine than the Ninja 1000SX- the model it will replace globally. It is now fitted with a 1099cc, inline-four motor sitting in an aluminium twin tube chassis and fed by a 19-litre fuel tank. The motor is Euro5+ compliant and offers 134bhp at 9,000rpm with 113Nm of torque at 7,600rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a quickshifter.

Additionally, you also get traction control, cornering ABS, power modes and cruise control as standard on the base variant as well. You also get the Kawasaki Rideology app with connectivity and voice activation as well as a USB-C port. That said, the Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX benefits from removable luggage and a height-adjustable screen. While the new SE variant takes things up a notch.

The premium variant comes with Brembo M4.32 front brake calipers, a Brembo Master cylinder and steel mesh brake lines.  Even the suspension setup on the SE is top-of-the-line and includes an Ohlins S46 rear shock with preload adjustability. As for features, the Ninja 1100SE also gets heated grips installed as standard apart from all the gizmos the other variants come with.

We can expect Kawasaki to launch the Ninja 1100SX and SE in Australia and New Zealand by the end of this year or early 2025.
