- KTM V80 and H88 displays announced
- Only fitted onto select models
- Also have an updated switchgear
KTM has taken a different approach to showcasing its products before arriving at the 2024 EICMA in Italy. The Austrian brand has slowly unveiled and announced its plans and the latest is the new technology that will be fitted on its premium motorcycles.
The new technology includes two touchscreen displays that revolve around KTM’s Human Motorcycle Interface. Called the V80 vertical display and H88 horizontal display, the systems offer anti-glare, anti-fingerprint and anti-reflex coatings. The coating make the TFT more visible from different angles while the screen has been boosted to offer 256,000 colours as against the 65,000 on the previous TFT units.
Adding to these features, the new displays also offer a split-screen mode along with five different layouts to choose from. What’s more, the touchscreen displays are joined with updated switchgear which offers new cuisse control buttons and connectivity unit too and the entire system will be fitted onto premium models only. While the H88 is expected to be fitted onto KTM’s sportier models, the V80 will feature on the ADV and travel range.
The new KTM technology also includes an all-new Computer Control Unit with a claimed 32GB of storage and 3GB of RAM. This allows connection to Bluetooth, Wifi and GPS devices.
Well, that is quite a bit of tech for KTM motorcycles which we can expect to see on other manufacturer offerings too. What do you think about the new gizmos? Let us know on our social channels!
