- Vespa’s special-edition 946 Snake unveiled
- Gets unique components
- Unlikely to be launched in NZ and AUS
Italian scooter manufacturer, Vespa, has taken the wraps off its latest special-edition model called the 946 Snake.
The scooter is built on the 946 platform (usually used for special iterations) and pays homage to the Chinese lunar calendar. And since 2025 is the year of the snake, it is only apt for the scooter to follow suit. Now, the Vespa 946 Snake is limited to just 888 units to make it special and comes with a pricing that would make it more of a collector’s item than an everyday commuter.
However, it comes with interesting bits and pieces that make it unique. To go with the theme, it gets reptilian inspiration all around. There is a snake skin-inspired seat and grips texture and plentiful chrome badging to set it apart. Underneath, the 946 Snake uses a 125cc, three-valve motor that is expected to produce around 11.6bhp. It rides on 12-inch wheels at both ends with 220mm disc brakes and monoshocks for the front and rear.
Along with the 946 Snake, Vespa has launched a range of similar-themed clothing and a pop-up shop tour across Europe. While we won’t be seeing the clothing range hitting NZ shores, the special model will be available in NZ with a price of $24,990.
Numbers are limited, so if you want to be in exclusive company, contact your local Vespa dealer as soon as possible.
