- New BMW R1300R incoming
- Will get the same 1300cc boxer-twin engine as the GS
- Could be launched in NZ and Australia by the end of 2025
BMW Motorrad have announced that the new R1300R will be introduced to the world tomorrow, 10 April. The brand has released teaser videos of the motorcycle that have given away some details of the upcoming model.
The R1300R will be following the R1300 GS and R1300 GS Adventure as the third iteration in BMW’s new 1300cc range. And so, it is expected to come with the same 1300cc, air/liquid-cooled Boxer-twin engine as the adventure models and offer around 143bhp. However, it is yet not clear if it will have a completely different state of tune. It is also likely to come with the Automated Shift Assist tech. With its launch just a day away, we won’t have to wait much before all the details are out.

That said, the new R1300R will be sportier than before with a styling to match. We can already see that it will come with a new fascia and revamped LED lighting, resculpted fuel tank and a different tail section too. Now, the R1300 range is also expected to see new RS and RT models coming in at a later stage. Other than this, the chassis would also be stiffened a bit to complete the roadster’s character along with a reduction is weight and dimensions compared to the GS.
Now, the new BMW R1300 R and the rest of the upcoming range will compete with the KTM 1390 Duke range in international markets.
