- 2025 Ducati Multistrada V2 unveiled
- Gets changes to engine, design and features
- NZ and AUS launch by mid-2025
Ducati has unveiled the new Multistrada V2 for 2025. The adventure motorcycle continues to be offered in a standard and S version and was showcased at the Intermot show in Cologne.
The 2025 Multistrada V2 is powered by the brand’s new 890cc, twin-cylinder engine that does duty in the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2. This brings in more power- a jump from 111bhp at 9,000rpm to 113bhp 10,750rpm. Although torque has dropped from 98Nm at 6750rpm to 92Nm at 8250rpm.
That said, the engine sits as a stressed member in a new aluminium monocoque frame with a redesigned trellis subframe. The swingarm is double-sided and is made from cast aluminium. Now, the Multi V2 weighs 18kg lighter than the previous iteration tipping the scales at 202kg, dry.
Ducati has also tweaked the design of the Multistrada V2 to look similar to the V4. It not only enhances its form but the changes have added to its function too. The styling is meant to boost long-distance comfort and reduce fatigue by letting the air flow around the rider. The windscreen, for instance, was developed using aerodynamic research while the sides have been designed to channel air to the rider’s legs for better heat management. Even the knee recesses have been tweaked to provide a better sense of control.
Even the passenger gets the benefits of the redesign. The grab handle is shorter while the top-box and side cases have been shifted back to give the pillion more legroom. Riders have the option to choose between two seat adjustments ranging from 830mm to 850mm. Moreover, this can be dropped to 810mm or extended to 870mm with accessory seats.
Now, the Multistrada V4S receives the Ducati Skyhook electronic semi-active suspension that can lower the seat to 790mm. The base model gets Marzocchi-sourced suspension with full adjustability at both ends. Both bikes use Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 tyres and offer 170mm of travel. As for features, you get a new five-inch TFT display, five ride modes, traction control, wheelie control and engine brake control. There also is a cruise control as standard while turn-by-turn navigation is offered as an option.
Ducati will launch the new Multistrada V2 and V2S in Australia and New Zealand around mid-2025. Stay tuned to our social networks for more updates!
