Husqvarna has taken the wraps off its 2017 701 Supermoto and 701 Enduro machines
Husqvarna has unveiled its latest 701 supermoto and enduro machines, with both getting a jump in power while also adhering to the tough Euro IV emissions standards.
They’re both cool looking machines, with adjustable WP suspenders, white trellis frames and meaty looking brakes all featuring.
The Supermoto gets 17 inch black anodised wheels with tubeless tyres, while the Enduro sticks to its roots with a spoked 21 inch rim at the front with an 18 incher out back.
Husky says the new powerplant is a class leader in terms of the level of performance the 692.7cc single punches out. Sitting between the frames of the 701 Supermoto and 701 Enduro, the new motor makes a healthy 74HP at 8,000rpm, and 71 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. That’s up 6 hp and 3 Nm from this year’s models.
Both bikes benefit from 10,000 km service intervals thanks in part to new lubrication technologies, while fuel economy has reportedly been kept in the green with other advances.
Smooth power delivery is promised with the state-of-the-art four-valve cylinder head with featuring twin spark ignition. With the single overhead camshaft technology allowing for more exact valve timing at higher engine speeds, Husqvarna engineers added an extra 1000 rpm of usable power to the engine. For increased comfort and less vibration from engine, they’ve also added a second counter balancer shaft.
The Keihin supplied EFI system features a new 50 mm throttle body that is controlled by ride-by-wire technology and offers better throttle response and ride-ability at small throttle valve position according to Husqvarna.
Both new bikes make their debut to the public at the Intermot show in Cologne in October.
