- New Kawasaki Z650RS and Z900RS arrive
- Get new colours as part of the update
- No changes to the engine or features
The Kawasaki Z650RS and Z900RS might be the most retro-looking modern motorcycles from a a Japanese manufacturer. Yes, Honda had the modern-retro CB range but decided that styling wasn’t working too well for them in 2023. Now, the 2025 Kawasaki Z650RS and Z900RS have been unveiled, but the updates are limited to new colours.
To begin with, the Z650RS now comes in Ebony which incorporates golden graphics and golden wheels, Ebony with Green and Ebony with Yellow. On the other hand, the bigger Z900RS gets Black with a green tank, Matte black that sports golden fork bottles and wheels and the gorgeous Ino Red that gets golden highlights too but has more chrome bits.
Other than the new colour options, the Z900RS and Z650RS remain the same in terms of mechanicals, styling and engine. So, the Z650RS draws power from the same 649cc, parallel-twin engine as the Z650, Ninja 650 and Versys 650. On the other hand, the Z900RS shares its underpinnings with the Z900 naked.
With these colourways being introduced in Europe, we can expect Kawasaki to launch the 2025 versions of the motorcycles in New Zealand and Australia in the coming months.
