- KTM 1390 Adventure R breaks cover
- Gets a new engine and more features
- NZ launch could happen by mid-2025
KTM has been in the news recently for various reasons, but amidst everything, the Austrian brand has unveiled the new 1390 Adventure R, its off-road-focused tourer.
Like the other models in the Super Adventure range, the R now comes with a 1350cc V-twin motor, as opposed to the previous 1301cc motor. This mill features the Camshift system, which is essentially a variable valve timing tech and pushes out a respectable 170 horses. Now, the KTM 1390 Super Adventure R is on par with what the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally has to offer. That said, it misses out on the radar tech that is offered on the Multi and other KTM Super Adventure versions.
Well, KTM has updated the features list that now has multiple ride modes, lean-sensitive rider aids and a built-in navigation in the new eight-inch vertical touchscreen display. On the exterior, the new 1390 Super Adventure R gets an orange frame that is now stiffer and an exposed subframe done in white. The iconic combination would be incomplete without the blue that features on the sides and part of the fuel tank. Adding to this is the new bodywork with the short windscreen and the large LED headlamp.
The off-road-focused motorcycle rides in 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheel with Bridgestone Battlax Adventure Trail 41 tyres. It also gets manually adjustable 48mm WP Xplor split cartridge forks up front and a manually adjustable monoshock at the rear. This comes with a remote adjuster to tweak preload.
Now, with global pricing yet to be revealed, we can expect KTM to launch the new 1390 Super Adventure R sometime in 2025.
