- Priced at $11,490
- Gets the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine
- Positioned below Shotgun 650
Royal Enfield has finally launched the new Classic 650 in New Zealand and priced the motorcycle at $11,490, just under the Shotgun 650’s $11,990 price tag- like we predicted.

The pricing is introductory and includes a 3-year unlimited kilometre and 3 year roadside assistance package. That said, with this pricing, Royal Enfield is looking to go head on against the BSA Goldstar 650.

Now, the Classic 650 was introduced to the world at the 2024 EICMA in Italy and is based on the same platform as the other models in Royal Enfield’s 650cc range that include the Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650.

It borrows heavily from the Classic 350 when it comes to styling and sports a large, bulbous fuel tank and rounded fenders at both ends.

The motorcycle is also adorned with chrome on most of its bodywork and is offered in three colours- Vallum Red, Black Chrome and Teal. Moreover, the twin pipes, and the large size of its fuel tank and fenders are what set it apart from its smaller sibling.

Powering the Classic 650 is a 648cc, parallel-twin engine that offers 46.3bhp and 52.3Nm. And weighing in at over 215kg, it is also one of the heaviest Royal Enfields around. The bike rides on a 19/18-inch spoke wheel combination and has 43mm Showa telescopic forks at the front and a pair of shocks at the rear for suspension duties.

The list of features includes a semi-digital cluster and Tripper navigation as standard. There also is adjustable levers, full-LED lighting and dual-channel ABS.

Royal Enfield has announced that the first shipments of the new Classic 650 will begin arriving at dealerships by April 2025, and pre-order bookings have already commenced on the brand’s official website.
