- Royal Enfield Scram 440 launched in India
- Uses a bigger 443cc engine
- It could be launched in NZ and AUS soon
Royal Enfield has launched a new motorcycle overseas called the Scram 440. Using a bigger engine and a few changes, it will replace the Scram 411 internationally.
The Scram 440 looks just like the 411 and could even be mistaken for one. However, with the different colours, it aims to set itself apart. There are Force Teal, Force Grey, Force Blue, Trail Green, and Trail Blue. Now, the Royal Enfield Scram 440 is available in two variants- Trail and Force. While the Scram 411 was offered in a single variant with pricing from $7,790, the new Scram 440 will be slightly more expensive. To justify the potential price hike, the Scram 440 has a bigger 443cc, air/oil-cooled engine that pushes out 25.4bhp at 6250rpm and 34Nm at 4000rpm. It also benefits from a six-speed gearbox while the outgoing model came with a five-speed.
The Royal Enfield Scram 400 Trail uses 19/17-inch spoke wheels with tube-type tyres. Meanwhile, the Force variant comes with alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. That said, suspension is done by telescopic forks and a monoshock while braking is handled by a revised single disc for the front and rear each. As for features, the bike comes with LED headlamp and dual-channel ABS.
With the motorcycle in international markets, the Scram 440 can be expected to be launched in New Zealand and Australia in the next few months.
