The Northerner is heading down to hang with the Southerners… yeah, that’s right, Guy Martin is set to be at the Burt Munro Challenge
We know, Guy Martin has been to New Zealand before, which saw him competing in the Suzuki Series that culminated in the Cemetery Circuit race in Wanganui. This time, after a chat with BRM, the ‘Northern Lad’ is heading to Invercargill to take on the Burt.
Martin loves tinkering with bikes and is likely to ride a varied assortment of classic machines over the event, as well as another star of this year’s event, his home-built turbocharged Suzuki GSX-R1100. With the bike capable of pumping out an excess of 400hp, it is rumoured that Bluff Hill is actually shaking at the prospect of that bike ripping up the narrow, bumpy and steep ribbon of seal, complete with its own water feature, in the NZ HillClimb Championships.
With the new street racing circuit right in town filling with around 10,000 spectators, 2016 is looking to be bigger and better than any year before, so now is a good time to contact your mates and plan to be at the Burt Munro Challenge:
Thursday November, 24 – Sunday, November 27
