- Royal Enfield Bear 650 images leaked
- To get a 648cc, parallel-engine
- Launch likely at 2024 EICMA
A 650cc Royal Enfield Himalayan has been rumoured ever since the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 were introduced. Looks like it is soon going to be a reality; or at least some of it. Images of a 650cc scrambler have been leaked, and this motorcycle is expected to be called the Bear 650.
Going by the images, the Bear 650 looks like an Interceptor-based Scrambler with retro elements like the chrome headlamp grill and handlebar brace and racing number plate on the side. The tail section is also new and slimmer featuring a slim grab rail and single tail lamp flanked with LED turn signals. However, what stands out is the paint scheme and the chrome spokes in black wheels with dual-sport tyres.
In addition to that, the exhaust is also different on the Bear 650. It looks shorter and with a two-in-one setup, it could produce a different note and be lighter too. However, the motorcycle is expected to get the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine that is used on other models as well.
That said, to keep costs in check and keep the retro vibes going, the Royal Enfield Bear 650 gets a single-pod console. It is likely to get smartphone connectivity and features like a USB charging port, and dual-channel ABS. Well, the Bear 650 rides on USD forks and dual shocks at the rear with single discs at both ends.
Now, with the motorcycle looking completely ready for production, we can expect it to be showcased at the 2024 EICMA. The Bear 650 could then make it to other markets including Australia and New Zealand by early 2025.
