- Announcement scheduled for 21 November
- Bear 650 based on Interceptor 650
- To be priced higher
Royal Enfield recently showcased its newest offering- the Bear 650. Now, the brand has announced that the pre-bookings for the motorcycle for Australia and New Zealand will open next week on 21 November. Additionally, the pricing of the motorcycle will also be revealed at 10 am.
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 is based on the Interceptor 650 but adorns a much more rugged and off-road capable character. The scrambler-like design does involve some elements from the Interceptor but gets changes to set it apart. So, there is the slightly revised seat, braced handlebar and tweaked tail section as well. Underneath the retro-scrambler panels is the same 650cc parallel-twin engine that churns out 47bhp but comes with 5Nm more torque bringing it to 57Nm.
As for hardware, the Bear 650 gets long-travel USD forks up front and twin springs at the rear. Moreover, its braking is handled by a single disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel with dual-purpose tyres. Featurewise, there is a single-pod, 4-inch TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.
The Royal Enfield Bear will be offered in five colours- Petrol Green, White Honey, Broadwalk White, Golden Shadow and Two Four Nine.
