The motorcycle is based on the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650 and borrows many components from them. But with a few tweaks here and there, it does offer its own character and charm. The Classic 650 gets the iconic Classic styling with the shape of the fuel tank and headlamp looking identical. However, the twin exhaust pipes, bigger tank and wider fenders make it distinctive. It also gets four colours- Vallum Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Black Chrome and Teal.

Royal Enfield Classic 650

Powering the Classic 650 is the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine as the other models in the 650 range. It offers 46.3bhp and 52.3Nm. As far as numbers go, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 weighs 243kg making it the heaviest bike in the brand’s portfolio. Now, the Classic 650 rides on a 19/18-inch spoke wheel combination along with 43mm Showa telescopic forks for the front and a pair of shocks at the rear.

In terms of features, you get a semi-digital display with the Tripper navigation system- a layout that is similar to the Classic 350. There also is adjustable levers, full-LED lighting and dual-channel ABS as standard.

We expect Royal Enfield to launch the Classic 650 in New Zealand and Australia by early 2025 with bookings likely to commence in December of this year.
