- Royal Enfield Classic 650 spied testing
- Likely to get same features and tech as Interceptor 650
- Expected launch at EICMA 2024
The Classic 350 is Royal Enfield’s highest sold motorcycle. So, the existence of a Classic 650, especially after the success of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 was obvious. Now, spy images from Europe show a production-spec Classic 650, hinting that it will be launched soon. And we can expect it to make its global debut at the EICMA 2024 in November.
The Classic 650 is likely to get the 648cc, parallel-twin engine that does duty on the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650. The version on the Classic could only be slightly tweaked when it comes to throttle output but continue to offer 47bhp and 52Nm.
As for styling, the 650 derives heavily from the Classic 350. It comes with bulbous fuel tank and retro-style fenders and body panels. Even more retro is the ‘Royal Enfield’ logo on the dual-tone tank. The Classic 650 is also adorned in chrome on its engine casing, wheels, mirrors and exhaust, in tune with the retro theme.
While it is yet to be confirmed, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 could get alloy wheels and a blacked-out theme too, like the Interceptor 650. Speaking of which the new motorcycle could also be fitted with the same hardware and features like the Tripper Navigation system.
What would it cost? We expect it to be positioned under the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT650 making it the most affordable model in the range. To put things in perspective, the INT 650 is priced from $10,690 while the Continental GT650 is priced from $10,790.
