- It’s Triumph’s most powerful naked bike yet.
- Max power is 180hp, 3hp more than the outgoing model.
- First Triumph naked with Ă–hlins’ latest Smart EC 3.0 system.
Triumph has unveiled the new Speed Triple 1200 RS, officially discontinuing the short-lived, half-faired RR model.
Building on its legacy, the new Speed Triple becomes Triumph’s most powerful naked bike to date, boasting 180bhp—a 3bhp increase over the outgoing model. Torque has also been improved, rising from 92lb-ft to 94lb-ft, with peak torque arriving lower in the rev range. These performance enhancements stem from refined engine mapping, ECU updates, and a new free-flowing exhaust system. While the stock exhaust might look sizable, an optional Akrapovic system is available for those seeking a sleeker option.

The 2025 model also introduces a brand-new chassis and marks a milestone as the first Hinckley “naked” to feature semi-active suspension from Ă–hlins. While the Speed Triple 1200 RR previously benefited from similar technology, the RS takes it further with Ă–hlins’ latest Smart EC 3.0 system. This state-of-the-art suspension, paired with the Objective Based Tuning Interface (OBTi), allows riders to fine-tune settings such as front and rear firmness, braking support, acceleration support, cornering support, and comfort. Additionally, the bike gains an adjustable steering damper for enhanced handling.

Riding modes and electronics have received a significant upgrade, with sportsbike-level customisation options now available. Riders can independently adjust traction control, wheelie control, engine braking, and even brake slide control. Cruise control remains standard, and track enthusiasts will appreciate the lighter wheels fitted with Pirelli Super Corsa tyres. The bike’s stopping power is provided by Brembo Stylema calipers paired with IMU-controlled cornering ABS. However, the new model does come with a slight weight increase of 1kg over its predecessor.
Styling updates give the Speed Triple a refreshed yet familiar look. Subtle design tweaks and new colour options add to its appeal. Customers can choose from three finishes: Jet Black, or the premium options of Granite and Diablo Red, or Granite and Performance Yellow.

Available from March 2025, the Speed Triple 1200 RS pricing will be released closer to the time. Speaking about the new model, Triumph Motorcycles’ Chief Commercial Officer Paul Stroud commented: “In 2024 we celebrated the Speed Triple’s 30th Anniversary with owners, fans and collectors, clearly demonstrating how every iteration of this model has been as groundbreaking as that original hooligan we launched in 1994. Back then, it sparked the birth of a whole new category of naked sports bikes. Today, we are setting a new benchmark for triple powered performance with this new Speed Triple 1200 RS.”
