For the new model the Yamaha R1 gets a pair of 320mm Brembo Stylema calipers at the front with a Brembo master cylinder. The other aspect that’s been revised is the suspension with fully adjustable 43mm KYB forks. Other than this, the 2025 Yamaha R1 gets a new seat and is finally fitted with carbon-fiber winglets similar to the M1 MotoGP bike.

On the other hand, the R1M gets everything from the standard R1 but with a generous lather of carbon fiber. It gets a full carbon fiber body with the carbon fiber winglets.

The other bits like the Ohlins electronic racing suspension on both ends and the track-focused rider aids remain the same. It also retains the aluminum swingarm and a different colour scheme that’s visually darker than the standard model. Lastly, to set it apart further, the R1M sports an engraved serial-numbered plaque.

Now, the interesting bit is that Yamaha is looking to launch the new R1 and R1M in New Zealand and Australia in the first quarter of 2025. We can expect the motorcycles to come with a hike in pricing over the current models.
